What is an open studio tour?

An open studio tour is an event where artists open their workspaces to the public, allowing visitors to view their art, see their creative process, and engage with the artists directly.

Is there an admission fee?

Yes for those attending the event as guests, there are tickets. Early bird tickets are $20, and $30 after September 5th.

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

You can purchase tickets in advance, or purchase tickets on the same day as the studio tours.

Do the tickets cover both days of the studio tours?

Yes! Tickets are valid for both dates.

Do I need to check in for this event?

Yes. You will need to pick up wristbands whether you purchase them in advance, or in person. Tickets, wristbands and maps will be available for pickup on the Saturday and Sunday of the event. (Pick-up locations in Topanga will be confirmed and released in early September.)

What types of art will be on display?

The tour includes a wide variety of art mediums such as painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, digital art, printmaking, textile art, installation art, and more.

Can I buy art during the tour?

Yes, many artists will have their work available for sale. It’s a great opportunity to purchase original art directly from the artists.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Payment methods vary by artist. Many accept cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments like PayPal or Venmo. It’s a good idea to bring multiple payment options.

Are there guided tours or maps available?

While we won’t offer guided tours, maps will be available. When you pick up your wristband, you will be provided a map that will guide you to each studio. The map will also include participating artists as well as their mediums.

Can I visit any artist’s studio, or do I need to follow a specific route?

You can visit studios at your own pace and in any order you prefer.

Are children and pets allowed?

Please, leave your sweet furry friends at home. Children are also welcome, but please be mindful of each studio space, as some items will likely be fragile.

Is photography allowed?

This depends on the artist. Some artists welcome photography, while others may prefer no photos of their work. Always ask for permission before taking pictures.

Will the artists be available to talk about their work?

Yes, one of the main attractions of an open studio tour is the opportunity to meet the artists, ask questions, and learn about their creative process.

How can I get updates or more information about the event?

You will find available information and updates via our website and social media pages as they become available. Email updates will also be sent out as the event date approaches.
